Assetto Corsa – Porsche 911 RSR Teaser Videos

Originally, the Porsche Pack Volume 3 for Assetto Corsa should have contained the new Porsche 911 RSR. However, the newest racing weapon from the German sportscar brand did not make it to the DLC release and was replaced by a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

Kunos Simulazioni explained that they needed more time to get the RSR model ready. They rescheduled the release to January and confirmed that the Porsche 911 RSR would be a FREE upgrade of the Porsche Pack Vol. 3 DLC. Unfortunately, the car did not make its rescheduled release target for of a multitude of reasons.

We believe that the car model which is now reported to be in pre-alpha state, may well soon become available due to as master teaser Marco Massarutto started posting videos which accidently include snippets of the RSR in-game. While the posted video’s do not focus on the upcoming RSR model, it is clear that the hidden message in the video is hinting the upcoming release.

The new 2017 Porsche 911 RSR is most likely the biggest evolution in the history of Porsche’s top GT model. While retaining the typical 911 design, most of the technical elements have been re-developed from scratch and are fully compliant with the new LM-GTE/ACO class rules.

Unlike its rear-engined predecessors, the 2017 RSR features a new lightweight 503bhp 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine that is located in front of its back axle. This design will improve the RSR’s overall weight balance and enables the fitment of a large rear diffuser which in its turn will result in more downforce and stability. Furthermore, the RSR also received a newly designed suspension, six-speed paddle-shifted gearbox, and enhanced aerodynamic features.

The new Porsche 911 RSR will compete in the American IMSA Weathertech Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) including the 2017 edition of 24 Hours of Le Mans where it will take on the fight with the also mid-engined twin-turbo V8 Ferrari 488 and twin-turbo V6 Ford GT.
