Derek Speare Designs – New Product Prototypes

For most Sim Racing enthusiasts out there, Derek Speare Designs needs no introduction. DSD produces a complete assortment of sim racing products, such as button boxes, precision machined wheel plates, wheel adapters, sequential shifters and more.

While the DSD product catalog already contains a vast amount of quality sim racing gear, there is always room for improvements and innovation. Dereck keeps on designing product prototypes which aim to enhance the functionality, economy, immersion and fun factor of the sim racing hobby.

Recently, Derek introduced some of his new idea’s and designs which are under consideration for release. Keep in mind that all featured products are prototypes, and will not necessarily make it to production. This DSD Formula Wheel will bolt straight onto a Logitech G27 wheelbase and provide you with an arsenal of on-wheel controls. Should this wheel become release ready, Derek is considering outsourcing the production to an expert wheel builder.

The DSD Load Cell kit for the Logitech pedal unit aims to transform the brake pedal of the G25/27 into a 200kg load cell unit without modifying any of the Logitech parts. This so-called  “Drop In” modification is a perfect solution for those who are less keen on modifying individual Logitech parts, or for those who want to be able to revert to the original product configuration when needed.
