DRM Revival Mod for Assetto Corsa – First Porsche 935 previews

In December last year, the DRM Modding Team announced that they would start work on their very popular DRM Revival Mod for the Assetto Corsa simulator.

Today they are proud to share the first preview screens and video with the community. The video shows us the famous 1978 GELO Team Porsche 935/77A as raced by Klaus Ludwig in action on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The Porsche 935 was the most successful car in the history of the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft. Internationally, the Porsche 935 won all eight rounds of the 1978 World Championship and 12 out of the 14 races in the 1978 American IMSA series.

While the video and screenshots show you a work in progress, it is safe to say that the car model and its sounds are already impressive. Furthermore, the DRM modding team also provided us with a sneak peek of the new cars in development for the mod. In the near future, the Mustang Gr5, Porsche 935 K3, and the Lotus Europa Zakspeed Gr5 will become part of the DRM Revival mod.

Because of the massive workload involved, the original DRM Modding Team core, NIL, ck73 and dmatzies, are now joined by new members Sovers, Ralf, Manuel, Jo and some other handsome guy.  The team will try to bring the best DRM Gruppe 5 recreation possible to the Assetto Corsa platform.

The DRM Revival Mod recreates the fast and spectacular DRM Cars that were raced from 1972 to 1985. The DRM Group 5 series was divided into 2 groups. Division 1 was made up by iconic cars as the Porsche 935 Turbo, Lancia Beta Monte Carlo Turbo and the Zakspeed Turbo Ford Capri’s with engines ranging from 2000 cm ³ up to 4000 cm ³ and Division 2 cars with less than 2000 cm ³ like the Zakspeed Ford Escort, BMW 320i.

Many of the drivers have become household names in the international racing scene. Hans Heyer, Rolf Stommelen, Klaus Ludwig, Manfred Winkelhock, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Harald Ertl and Toine Hezemans, to name a few.
