Polyphony Digital’s upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title will feature a big selection of well-known racing circuits from around the world. One of the latest revealed tracks to be part of the game is the famous Australian Mount Panorama Circuit, also known as Bathurst. Mount Panorama first became part of the Gran Turismo franchise in version 6 and now secured its place in the Gran Turismo Sport track portfolio.  Sadly enough, fans of the track will be disappointed to hear that there will be no V8 Supercars available in the upcoming GT title.

The IGN games media website now posted some interesting new videos showing us the virtual Bathurst track as featured in the Gran Turismo Sport Beta. We can have a look at some in-game cockpit-cam and Spectator’s view replay footage of the Schülze Motorsport Nissan GT-R GT3 going up and down the Bathurst mountain.

Polyphony Digital CEO and original GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi said to IGN:

Mount Panorama is one of the few circuits in the world that caters to the driver, being fun to drive with lots of ups and downs much like the Nürburgring. It is also a track that has unique and beautiful scenery around it, equal to that of Le Mans or Monaco. This is the reason why I decided to include Mount Panorama in Gran Turismo.

The difference from other titles regarding Mount Panorama also means the difference of Gran Turismo Sport as a whole from other titles, and the difference of Gran Turismo Sport and other titles is very simple: it’s the quality. We aim to achieve the highest quality in the world, consistently throughout the game from its visuals, physics, and all parts involving its large variety of features.

The Bathurst track, better known as Mount Panorama is an Australian racing circuit located in Bathurst, New South Wales. The 6-kilometer long track with a 174-meter vertical elevation is the home of the Bathurst 12 Hour and the world famous Supercheap Auto 1000 V8 Supercar Race.

Gran Turismo Sport will be a new iteration of the world-renown racing simulation franchise. The game is currently in development as a VR-compatible racing game and will be the first console racing title to feature online competitions sanctioned by the FIA (Federation International Automobile). The game will feature +-140 premium cars and 19 locations featuring 27 layouts. Gran Turismo Sport was first scheduled to be released late 2016 but was later on delayed to ensure the game’s quality.

Gran Turismo Sport will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 later this year.
