March 17th, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Polyphony Digital officially started the initial phase of the closed beta test for Gran Turismo Sport which is arguably the most anticipated racing game for the current console generation.

For those of us who missed out on a GT Sport Beta test selection, Korean MuiMuiGameTV posted a massive 3-hour long video, showing us plenty of 1080p60 high-resolution gameplay footage from GT-Sport running on a PlayStation4 Pro.

It is becoming clear that Gran Turismo Sport is Polyphony Digital’s most ambitious version of the GT franchise. The development team is taking the title to the next level with gorgeous visuals, impressive lighting features, a polished user interface and VR support. Furthermore, GT Sport will include enhanced online multiplayer features and will host a fully FIA-sanctioned racing championship.

The first phase of the Gran Turismo Sport closed beta test was restricted to USA PSN ID’s. European players can sign up for phase 2 of the GT Sport closed beta tests at this link.

Keep in mind that completing the signup does not guarantee a place on the Gran Turismo Sport Beta. The selections are entirely up to Sony Interactive Entertainment. The Beta test terms and conditions can be found here.

Gran Turismo Sport will be a new iteration of the world-renown racing simulation franchise. The game is currently in development as a VR-compatible racing game and will be the first console racing title to feature online competitions sanctioned by the FIA (Federation International Automobile). The game will feature +-140 premium cars and 19 locations featuring 27 layouts. Gran Turismo Sport was first scheduled to be released late 2016 but was later on delayed to ensure the game’s quality.
