Inside Sim Racing FL2 shifter adapter by Basherboards

Jason Dunnington of Inside Sim Racing presents a quick look at the FL2 shifter adapter by Basherboards. Sim racers who upgraded their steering wheel from Logitech G25 or G27 to another brand might still feel the need to keep on using their Logitech shifter.

There is an adapter on the market created by Basherboards that will allow you to use your Logitech G25 or G27 shifter connected to its individual USB port. Appart from connecting it directly to a PC or Mac, the FL2 is also capable of being connected directly to a Fanatec wheel. No special drivers are needed to use the adapter on the computer.

Purchase includes:

  • FL2 – Shifter Adapter
  • 6′ black USB A to USB B cable

Modes:

Direct Connection to Fanatec Wheel: In this mode, all 6 gears plus reverse work. Sequential mode on the G25 shifter works as well. The buttons on the shifter DO NOT work in this mode as the Fanatec wheel cannot handle anything but gear changes on its shifter input. The adapter is power directly from the wheel itself, no external power supply is necessary.

Connected via USB to a computer: In this mode, all 6 gears plus reverse work. Sequential mode on the G25 shifter works as well. All of the buttons on the shifter work. No special driver is needed.

Supported Fanatec Wheels:

  • ClubSport Wheel (with RJ12 to PS2 cable)
  • CSR Elite(with RJ12 to PS2 cable)
  • CSR
  • Porsche 911 GT2
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS
  • Porsche 911 Carrera
  • Porsche Turbo S
  • Essentially any Fanatec wheel that can use the Fanatec 6 speed or sequential shifters
  • You will need a computer for initial adapter calibration.
