iRacing – 410 Dirt Sprint Car Confirmed

iRacing has confirmed that the 410 Dirt Sprint car will become part of the iRacing Online Racing Service. The iRacing marketing team posted two new pictures, showing us a sneak peek of the laser scan session performed earlier today.

The Sprint Car license is part of the iRacing service expanding its portfolio with the much-anticipated Dirt racing tracks and cars. Previously, iRacing already confirmed the Late Model Dirt racing car and the Ford Fiesta GRC car. The Eldora Speedway track is the first iRacing dirt track in development.

Sprint cars are popular high-powered race cars designed primarily for the purpose of running on short oval or circular dirt or paved tracks. Typically powered by a 6 liter American V8 engine, these small but very powerful cars produce as much as 1,100 horsepower giving them an incredible power to weight ratio. The 410 Sprint car exist as a winged and non-winged version.

Despite the huge popularity, and over 50 years of Sprint car racing, the category has only ever held one unofficial “World Championship”.
