iRacing – Behind the Scenes at Williams Grove Speedway

Back in April, iRacing confirmed that  dirt surface race tracks and dirt racing cars would be coming to the iRacing online motorsports simulation service.

One of the first dirt tracks to be released will be Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA. Last month iRacing’s software engineer Dan Garrison and VP of art and production Greg Hill visited the venue for a laser scan session and to gather reference photos.

Williams Grove Speedway is a half-mile automobile dirt racing track located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. The speedway opened on May 21, 1939, and has hosted many of the most notable national touring series and some of those most prestigious dirt races in the country.

In the latest video, we can take a peek behind the scenes at Williams Grove Speedway where Dan and Greg talk about the track development process for dirt tracks.
