iRacing Presents the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 23rd)

Next weekend, iRacing will host the 2016 edition of the virtual 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race held at the virtual Daytona International Speedway. The race will start on Saturday, January 23, with the top split broadcast on iRacing.com/live by RaceSpot TV.

The virtual ” around the clock” sim race honors the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, known as the Rolex 24 that is being held a weekend later.

Last years iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona event proved massively popular with over 1850 sim racers taking part in the different race splits. Also, a huge number of iRacing members participated as team managers, crew chiefs, and spotters. It will also be the second year the popular iRacing driver swap/team feature will be active during the race.

Participation is open to all iRacers with a road license level of D 4.0 or higher. The drivers are able to race in either the prototype class featuring the Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype or in the GT3 Series class driving the BMW Z4, Ford GT, McLaren MP4-12C or RUF Track version (Porsche 911).

The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona will be the first race in the “2016 iRacing World Tour & Special Event Series”.
