iRacing RealSense camera demo at the Intel Developer Forum

At the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich showcased the RealSense camera, which can sense and digitize the environment it sees.

Brian Krzanicht announced that as we speak, the RealSense based head tracking technology that can be considered a successor to the Microsoft Kinect camera will be integrated into a selection of games.

To demonstrate the RealSense camera when used in games, a demo was set up by iRacing and VRX that was running on the upcoming 6th Generation Intel Skylake processor. When supported within a game or simulator, the RealSense camera will track the driver’s face and viewpoint. (The Camera tracks your head movements and moves your cockpit’s view with it.)

Needless to say that in the near future more applications will be designed for the head tracking camera.
