ISR – Logitech G29 Review and Comparison

Darin Gangi and co-host John Sabol from Inside Sim Racing take the new Logitech G29 force feedback wheel for a test drive.

During this review, the wheel is mainly reviewed using a PC system, but the ISR.TV team also discusses its usage on a PS4 and PS3 console. As a bonus, Darin and John also perform a direct comparison to the older Logitech G27 wheel by testing the features and performance of the new product using the iRacing Star Mazda at Okayama as their test environment.

As usual, Darin and John end the review show with the Pro’s and Con’s of the Logitech G29, and share their personal final thoughts. Darin mentioned that the Logitech G29 seems to be a re-branded and re-buttoned product, and frankly… We agree.

The Logitech (Driving Force) G29 racing wheel is the successor of the popular Logitech G27. The wheel features a dual-motor force feedback system and a stainless steel pedal set including throttle, brake and clutch. As its predecessors, the G29 is fitted with a set of paddle gear shifters. Logitech decided not to include a sequential shifter as they did with the G25 and G27. However, Logitech is marketing an optional six-speed “Driving Force Shifter”. Owners of a Logitech G27 can use their current shifter, but have to keep in mind that the shifter console buttons will not work with in tandem with the G29.

The Logitech G29 is available for €399.
