Recently, Sector3 Studios added three new cars to the GT3 class of the RaceRoom racing simulator. One of them was the Mercedes AMG GT3.

German Mercedes-AMG factory driver Maximilian Götz visited the RaceRoom headquarters and had a tryout in the virtual version of the Mercedes AMG GT3 which is the same model he drove in the real world 2017 ADAC GT Masters championship. During his drive, Maximilian compares the simulated version of the car to the real world version and talks about virtual racing and esports.

German manufacturer Mercedes Benz presented their latest Customer GT3 weapon at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. This FIA GT3 compliant Mercedes AMG GT3 features a lightweight aluminum space frame and aluminum bodywork further supported by a selection of carbon fiber parts such as the regulation bucket seats, air intakes, aerofoil rear wing, and diffuser.

Rather than re-engineering the AMG GT’s 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 engine, Mercedes -AMG decided to power the GT3 with the same and 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that also served in the previous AMG GT3 SLS model.

Maximilian Götz made his first steps in motorsport in karting. After several years in the Formula 3 EuroSeries, Max moved to the ADAC GT Masters, wherein 2012 he celebrated his first overall victory in one of his biggest sporting successes. This was followed by a victory in the 2013 Spa 24-hour race and the triumph in the Blancpain Sprint Series 2014. In 2015 and 2016, Maximilian competed in the DTM for Mercedes-AMG. Since 2015, he has been working as a Mercedes-AMG factory driver competing in series and races around the world.
