RaceRoom Racing Experience Fabcar 935/84 previews

Sector3 published a set of preview screens showing us the group 5 Fabcar 935  model that is currently in development for RaceRoom Racing Experience. This car will soon join the Classic Group 5 class in R3E.

Porsches are not featured in current gaming platforms, due to the exclusive Porsche license that is still in de hands of Electronic Arts (EA). Therefore, most developers go for the closest replacement by obtaining a RUF license. While RUF produces car models that are based on the original Porsche 911 model, it does not produce a Porsche 935 look-alike needed the replace the DRM Group 5 Porsche 935’s.

To overcome this problem, Sector 3 decided to license the next best thing. The FABCAR 935.

In 1984 Dave Klym designed and built a car for Bob Akin racing called the Fabcar 935-84. The car was developed using Porsche-sourced components  such as a 935L chassis fitted with a body that included a Kremer K4 nose and a double-window long tail rear end. This gave the car a European Kremer Porsche 935 appearance.

The Fabcar 935 was powered by a Twin K-29 Turbocharged 930/80 Boxer-6 engine that delivered 596.6 kw / 800 bhp @ 8000 rpm. This gave it a top speed of 350.76 kph / 218 mph. The car competed in the Daytona 24 Hours, Sebring 12 Hours, Road Atlanta 500 km, Riverside 6 Hours and Lime Rock 1 Hour.

RaceRoom Racing Experience or R3E for short is a Free2Play Racing Simulation. The game includes five free-to-play cars and two highly detailed tracks. Three driving models are supplied for free as well as online competitions and challenges.
