The Simpit – iRacing Autodromo Nazionale Monza coming

As a Beta tester, Shaun Cole of “The Simpit” takes a (preview) look at the upcoming Autodromo Nazionale Monza track for iRacing.  The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is one of the world’s most famous racing circuits located near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. The venue’s history goes back to 1922. The current 5.793 km track is best known as the host of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix.

iRacing will not only bring us the current Grand Prix versions of the track, but also the historical layouts featuring the famous banked high-speed 4.5 km oval track. As usual we can expect a pixel-perfect version of the track made possible by making use of laser scanning technology.  The track will feature multiple layouts such as the modern Gp track, short Club track, the banked oval and a fantasy combination of the historic and present circuit.

The video starts of with a brief introduction by John G. Hill, reflecting on the history of the famous Italian GP track. Shaun Cole takes a look at what’s to come and explains som of the features of the track.

The Monza track will be available for iRacing members in the next few weeks.
