World Racing Series – Dynamic Terrain Deformation

World Racing Series – Dynamic Terrain Deformation

We all know that Piboso is a multi-talented one-man sim racing factory. At the moment, he is working on various titles such as MX-Bikes, GP-Bikes and the World Racing Series Simulator.

While recently working on his World Racing Series Simulator, Piboso has added a motocross track to test the dynamic terrain deformation feature. Presumably the track is sourced from his excellent MX-Bikes project. The dynamic terrain deformation code is implemented to produce a realistic terrain deformation during the vehicle tire-soil interaction.

In the video, we can see the terrain feature in action during a test in the AWD rallycross car with 3 LSD differentials and turbo engine with 550hp.

Even tough this video shows us a work in progress, it becomes clear that the WRS title combined with the dynamic terrain deformation feature has the potential of becoming a very realistic RallyCross simulator.

World Racing Series is a realistic car simulator, based on a scratch built physics engine that accurately simulates vehicle dynamics and setup options.

As such a force-feedback steering wheel is strongly recommended, although keyboard, joysticks and gamepads are fully supported. World Racing Series also allows to host and join online races, with an integrated matchmaking server. During events data is collected, to provide statistics for drivers’ comparison.

Features:

  • automotive industry-standard tyre model
  • dynamic track surface groove buildup
  • wet track simulation and dynamic drying
  • dynamic marbles generation
  • tyres pickup of marbles, grass and dirt, affecting grip
  • output of CSV files with telemetry data to analyze driving sessions
  • a plugins interface allows external programs to receive real-time data from the simulated car
  • LAN and online racing. Dedicated server available
  • support for custom paint schemes for car, helmet and suit
  • advanced users can build new tracks and integrate them with the provided tools
  • user-selectable driver gestures
