The AUTOBACS SUPER GT series are just about ready for the 2014 Super GT season. On February 28, the Super GT teams all headed to the Suzuka Circuit for the Official Japanese Super GT test days.

On July 19th, the SUPER GT’s official test was held at Suzuka Circuit, and No.1 REITO MOLA GT-R overtook the top time during the exclusive session in the GT500 and, in the GT300 class, No.61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT marked a record-breaking top time.

Yanagida and Quintarelli were crowned the GT500 championship winners Mineo and Yokomizo took the GT300 victory and championship. The Motegi GT 250 km RACE Round 8 of the 2012 AUTOBACS SUPER GT, took place at the Twin Ring Motegi.

iRacing.com has bolstered its commitment to its Asian market with the announcement of new partnerships with Japan’s Super GT Series and the Honda Motor Company. Beginning in 2013, the Japanese Super GT Series will join NASCAR, GRAND-AM, IZOD IndyCar and the Australian V8 Supercar Championship in staging an officially sanctioned iRacing series: the iRacing.com Super GT Series.

On May 3rd and 4th, 2012 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round 2 "FUJI GT 500km RACE" will be hosted at Fuji Speedway (Shizuoka Prefecture). In recent years, the event has been distanced at 400km or 300km, but the event will reclaim its privilege of long-distance race by going back to traditional 500km this year. Longer distance means higher possibility of unexpected during the race, and team strategies would vary by the assumption each team would make. In other words, more excitements and more dramatic turnarounds are the what waiting at the race. Zoom in for one of the hottest race in the early season.
