Assetto Corsa – What if Sound would have progressed with Graphics?

Assetto Corsa

Have you ever imagined how a racing title would have sounded, if there was made as much progress on the aural side if things then on the graphical side?
Pietro Cottone was feeling creative and took the time to edit some real world audio into an Assetto Corsa replay. The car of choice is the Ferrari 599XX . A car that is known for its aggressive downshift noises. Once you combine the Kunos Simulazioni visuals with the real world audio, the result is astonishing.

Dynamic sound would make a huge difference to the immersion factor of any racing title. Sim racing sounds are becoming better these days, but it is fair to say that sound is still the underestimated factor in most racing titles. So lets hope that sounds will one day make the same leap, as the graphics have done the last few years.

Assetto Corsa by by Kunos Simulazioni is being designed to provide a very realistic driving experience, with single player and multiplayer options, officially licensed cars and tracks developed using Laser scan technology, and the highest level of accuracy possible in reproducing real world motor racing environments. Also, Assetto Corsa will allow for considerable customisation and modification, in order to satisfy the expectations of professional sim racers, gamers who prefer to approach the driving experience more progressively, and hobbyists who just like to collect lots of cars and tracks.
