Drift 19 – The First Dedicated Drift Simulator Is Coming To PC and Consoles

Let’s start 2019 with something different. Over the years we have had a wealth of choice when it comes to racing games and driving simulators. Whether you prefer Circuit racing, Rally, Rallycross, a Demolition derby, or even a relaxed country drive in a classic car or big 18 wheeler truck, you will find a title which suits your needs.

But there are still niche’s out there. One of them is the art of Drifting. A lot of mainstream racing games have implemented the existing sideways smoking tyres sport, but the more demanding Drift fan, who wanted something a little more serious had to rely on the Live for Speed, or Assetto Corsa Drift communities. That will now change as hardcore Drift enthusiasts will get their own dedicated simulator.

The Polish ECC Games developer and publisher PlayWay partnership who you might already know as the producers of the very original Car Mechanic Simulator 2018is working on a dedicated Drift simulator logically named Drift 19. We have seen early alpha footage and promo video trailers appear on social media as far as a few years back, but now the development of Drift 19 seems to take on some serious momentum.

Judging by the currently available media previews, Drift 19 will include some iconic drift machines such as the Toyota Corolla AE86 and the BMW E30. Furthermore, Drift 19 will borrow some parts from the popular Car Mechanic Simulator in order to let you build and tune your personal drift monster and customize it to your heart’s content.

So far, we know the game will include a drift test track situated next to your Drift 19 garage, where you will be able to instantly test all your modifications. When you are satisfied with the results, you can take your drift machine to one of the world famous Drift locations for some fierce competition. Currently, the developer already shared some screenshots showing us the famous Ebisu Drift complex in Japan which features seven individual drift tracks and two skid pan type circuits. More featured tracks will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Drift 19 title is listed to become available on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While many console users will play the game/sim with an analog gamepad, ECC already stated that Drift 19 is going to support most of the popular steering wheels hardware. That said, an accurate list of supported hardware is not yet released.

Drift 19 is already listed at the Steam Network, but no release date or pricing details have been shared. We will keep you posted when more news becomes available.
