This week, Iracing released its 2023 Season 1 build update, introducing a huge list of new content, upgrades, fixes, and improvements.
While new content is usually the highlight of a major update, this new build introduced something that might be somewhat of a game-changer for competitive sim racers.
Slightly based on the Gran Turismo license test feature, iRacing introduced the all-new “Active Reset” feature. During Solo test sessions, players are able to reset their car position anywhere on track with the press of a button, allowing a track section, sector, or corner to be practiced over and over again.
Alongside the reset function, drivers can select the starting and end point of a section, and keep track of their Delta time enabling them to fine-tune the settings and find the fastest racing line.
The included How-To tutorial video will demonstrate how to set up your controls, use Active Reset, and create custom timing sectors.
