iRacing BMW Z4 GT3 Test Drive by Inside Sim Racing

Darin Gangi of Inside Sim Racing is part of the iRacing Online racing Alpha build test community. In this episode we can see his alpha test of the upcoming BMW Z4 GT3 in action on the Belgian Circuit Zolder and the night version of the USA Daytona Road Course. First of all, let it be clear that Darin has received official clearance from the iRacing staff to publish this preview to the public.

In the video we can already have a look at the in-game laser scanned car model and its cockpit. The real Z4 GT3 has a very distinctive shift sound, and specially when shifting back the BMW tends to be very recognisable in a field of GT cars. Judging by the sounds in this video, it seems that once more the iRacing dev team has done a great job. Darin calls it ” his favourite GT3 car yet”  On the performance side of things Darin reports no frame loss or performance issues whatsoever, in comparison to the other iRacing car models. This episode ends with a nice external view and sounds demonstration of the soon to be released GT3 Series contender.  From what i hear from that replay the external sounds are just about the most realistic BMW Z4 GT3 sounds yet.

This BMW Z4 GT3 will become part of the iRacing GT3 Series where you can race it together with the RUF ( Porsche GT3 replacement), Mclaren MP4-12c . Last week iRacingTV posted a video where you can have a look behind the scenes how the iRacing development team builds and ready the iRacing BMW Z4 GT3 for its online racing service. The iRacing BMW Z4 GT3 is scheduled for released during the late April software upgrade of the iRacing platform.

The real world European BMW Z4 GT3 is built to FIA GT3 regulations, but is modified in the united states to fit the GTE class regulations.  The BMW Z4 GT3 is as a factory customer car that can be purchased by private teams.  It is Powered by a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine derived from the BMW M3 GTS, and can produce approx. 515 PS (379 kW; 508 bhp), weighting in at 1,190 kilograms.
