Project CARS 2 – Porsche 962C Previews

After publishing some Porsche 935 and 936 Spyder Previews, Slightly Mad Studios released yet another set of preview screenshots showcasing another iconic Porsche model that made it to the history books of motorsport. Project CARS 2 will include the Porsche 962C and 962C Langheck (Longtail) models wearing some of their most famous liveries.

The Porsche 962 is a sports-prototype racing car built by Porsche as a replacement for the 956 and designed mainly to comply with IMSA’s GTP regulations, although it would later compete in the European Group C formula as the 956 had. The Porsche 962 was introduced at the end of 1984 and debuted in the summer of 1985 in North America, and would officially replace the 956 in the WSC that same year in the guise of the 962C (C for Group C).

As with every official Project Cars 2 vehicle introduction, Slightly Mad Studios published an interesting write-up outlining the history of the Porsche 962C. Check it out here.

At release, Project Cars 2 will feature eleven Porsche models including iconic classics and modern masterpieces of the legendary German manufacturer. The cars will be dressed in a selection of period-specific liveries. Check the release version Porsche list below.

  • 911 GT1-98
  • 911 GT3 R (991)
  • 911 GT3 R Endurance (991)
  • 911 GT3 RS
  • 918 Spyder
  • 935/77
  • 935/80
  • 936 Spyder
  • 962C
  • 962C Langheck
  • Cayman GT4 Clubsport

While this is already a pretty impressive list of Porsche’s, we are fairly sure that Slightly Mad Studios will add more models along the way in the form of some paid DLC packs.

Project CARS 2 the ‘ultimate driver journey’ will become available late 2017 for the PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam OS. On the consoles, PCars 2 will go head to head with upcoming heavyweights such as Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport.
