Project CARS 2 – Red Bull Ring Introduction

While it was not exactly a secret, Slightly Mad Studios now officially introduced the Red Bull Ring circuit as part of the upcoming Project CARS 2 title.

A few days ago, SMS already teased us with a screenshot on their Twitter account. Today they have released some new official in-game screenshots showing us the laser scanned version of the Austrian track in various weather conditions. For those who are interested in reading some interesting facts about the Red Bull Ring history, Slightly Mad Studios posted a write-up on their official web page. Check it out here.

Red Bull Ring

Born as the Österreichring and host of the Austrian Formula One Austrian Grand Prix for 18 years the track was rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring and was used in that configuration from 1997 to 2003.
After being left to its own devices, the track was purchased by Red Bull’s Dietrich Mateschitz and had the track completely rebuilt. The Red Bull Ring was born. The track reopened in 2011 where it hosted a round of the DTM season.

Project CARS 2 the ‘ultimate driver journey’ will become available late 2017 for the PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam OS. On the consoles, PCars 2 will be taking on the big boys of the console racing scene such as Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport.
