RaceRoom Summer Update – Customizable HUD – Better Netcode – Updated Circuits

RaceRoom

KW Studios has announced that alongside the new DTM 2026 Pack Update, big improvements are coming to the RaceRoom Summer Update. At the time of writing, no official release date was shared, but I expect the update to roll out rather sooner than later.

A brand-new customisable HUD will give drivers more information and full control over their layout, while major netcode optimisations pave the way for larger and more efficient multiplayer grids.

Highlights:

New Customisable HUD:

  • Built on Race Room’s new COSMO UI renderer.
  • Move, resize or disable every HUD element.
  • New MFD with relative, lap, vehicle and pit data.
  • Detailed tyre, brake and vehicle information.
  • Enhanced timing, standings and race notifications.
  • Multiclass colours added to the track map.
  • Familiar tools rebuilt and improved.

Improved Multiplayer Netcode:

  • Optimised for much larger grids
  • Full update rate for nearby cars
  • Reduced traffic from distant cars
  • Around 60% less data on 40-car grids
  • Successfully tested with 50 players
  • Improved dedicated server efficiency
  • More large-grid testing planned

Furthermore, two iconic circuits are getting a major refresh. The Nürburgring Nordschleife has been brought up to its real-world 2026 appearance with updated surfaces, kerbs, barriers, buildings and trackside details, while Monza has also been revisited with worn paint, rubbered-up kerbs and a more authentic raced-in look. Both visual updates will be free for existing track owners.

Highlights:

FREE Nordschleife 2026 Update:

  • Tourist parking updated with new posters and gates.
  • New buildings and EV charging stations added.
  • New exit road added before the Tourist entry.
  • Hohenrain driving line moved closer to the barrier.
  • Higher entry and exit kerbs added at Hatzenbach.
  • Extra grass grids added at several sections.
  • Green carpets removed at the GP circuit and Hohe Acht.
  • New banners and orange wall marker added at Breidscheid
  • Brünnchen kerb rebuilt in 3D.
  • Pflanzgarten 2 hill reprofiled.
  • New asphalt and track markings added.
  • EV charging stations added at T13.
  • Various surroundings and trackside details updated.

FREE Monza Visual Update:

  • Updated to reflect the circuit after recent renovation work.
  • Fresh asphalt and track surfaces retained.
  • Kerbs now show realistic rubber build-up.
  • Paintwork updated with visible wear and dirt.
  • Trackside surfaces given a more lived-in appearance.
  • Overall visuals now better match Monza after regular racing use.
