Preparation for Le Mans 2015 in Project CARS (Rene Rast)

Audi Sport has selected the German GT racing driver and Project CARS fan Rene Rast to be included in the driver line-up for the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Heures du Mans driving the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro LMP1 racer.

Rene states that driving the factory Audi LMP1 car is requiring a whole new driving style in comparison to the GT cars. He explains that it is important to get used to the new driving techniques like lift offs before braking zones. To adapt to this new driving style, Rene regularly fires up Project Cars and runs some laps in the virtual 2011 Audi R18 TDI. The video shows us some action in Rene’s private triple screen racing rig.

While within the community it is often rumored that real world racing drivers are mostly publishing promotional Sim racing videos as a form of sponsorship or paid advertising, Rene Rast always stated that he genuinely uses Gaming and Sim Racing titles as training tools. It is safe to say that track familiarization and pedal techniques can be more easily trained when having the ability to practice them in the comfort of your home.

Project CARS will be available on March 17 (USA) and March 20 (EUROPE) for PC, Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One. Project CARS will be released as a boxed retail version and as a digital download on the Steam platform.
