rFactor 2 – Renault Megane Trophy v1.02 available

Image Space Incorporated released an updated version of the Renault Megane Trophy car for their rFactor 2 Simulator.

The Renault Megane is now updated to the 2012 Evo specification. However, it is still possible to use the 2009 specification car (with less power – 360HP engine) via the upgrades feature. The new endurance package provides center lock wheels for faster pitstops and a 100L fuel tank. The update also fixes an issue where some steering wheels were not able to provide the full 900 degrees of rotation used by the car.

Last but not least, the ISI Renault Megane content now uses an entirely new 3D model. The new model is in fact, an old friend of ours. Back in 2009 we (RMT) scratch build the 2009 Megane Trophy V6 model for use in our WSGT2 mod for rFactor. When the WSGT2 mod development came to a halt, the RMT Megane mod was released in its current state as a mod for rF2.

When back in 2014 the ISI dev team asked us if they could use the RMT Megane model to replace the rF2 original, we decided to donate all the source material to the rF2 community. While the original RMT 2009 livery collection is not used (for licensing reasons) its still nice to see the Megane back where it belongs… On the rFactor 2 track.

For those interested we uploaded a PSD file including all the original RMT Megane Trophy liveries. Download here.  The original RMT template pack can be downloaded here.
