WRC 5 game announced

We all knew it was coming, but the big question was when. Now BigBen Interactive officially announced WRC 5 is to be released in the autumn of 2015.  The official FIA World Rally Championship game announcement Trailer shows us some early footage of the game in the form of several rally course clips.

After four WRC games that were developed by the Italian Milestone Studio and published by Black Bean, the fifth WRC title will be created by Kylotonn Games.  Former WRC developer MileStone is now working on a new rally title called “Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo” that will also launch this autumn exclusively on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Paris-based Kylotonn Entertainment Studio is using its own Kt Engine HD game engine as a core for WRC 5 and is promising a few nice surprises benefit from new development tools. Kylotonn Entertainment has only one previous racing title in its portfolio. A game called Truck Racer that was released by BigBen Interactive in October 2013.

“We are very proud and excited to work on a title dedicated to one of the most challenging and spectacular forms of motorsport,” says Diego Sartori, Creative Director at Kylotonn Games.

2013 FIA WRC 3 champion Sébastien Chardonnet has been involved with the concept and planning of the WRC 5 game.

“It’s exciting to help Kylotonn to make the best WRC game ever seen. Combining my driver and gamer experience with their technical point of view is something interesting when you are trying to do the most realistic game possible,” declares Chardonnet.

WRC 5 The Game will become available for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
