A few days ago, Kunos Simulazioni and McLaren Automotive revealed the news that the McLaren 720s GT3 will become a part of the Assetto Corsa Competizione racing simulation as part of the McLaren Shadow eSport competition.

Last year, the McLaren Shadow competition utilized a variety of racing titles including Forza Motorsport 7, Project Cars 2, iRacing, rFactor 2, and the mobile Real Racing 3 game. The announcement came as a big surprise as ACC is a newcomer to the McLaren Shadow Project, and the McLaren 720S GT3 is currently not participating in the Blancpain GT Series.

The McLaren 720s GT3 will be a free for all bonus car included with the upcoming Assetto Corsa Competizione v1.1 Update. Starting October 27, players will be able to compete in a Hotstint Special Event, featuring the McLaren 720S GT3 at the Silverstone circuit.

The winner of this McLaren Hotstint event will be invited as a finalist to the McLaren Technology Center to challenge other winners for a professional eSports seat at the McLaren Shadow team. You can now pre-register for this hotlap competition via the McLaren Shadow Leaderboard webpage. Make sure to check out the Competition Regulations here.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is currently available on Steam for €44,99.

McLaren 720S GT3

The McLaren 720S GT3 is the first GT model designed and built in-house by McLaren Customer Racing and is based on the highly acclaimed 720S from the Super Series.

Since being unveiled during the summer of 2018, the development team has completed thousands of miles across Europe and the Middle East and saw the latest GT3 challenger contest the Gulf 12 Hour race in Abu Dhabi as the testing program intensified. Making its global competitive debut, the 720S GT3 showed strong pace and huge potential, qualifying on the front row and eventually finishing an impressive fifth in the GT3 Pro class and eighth overall against a world-class grid.
