Assetto Corsa Competizione, the official video game of the GT World Challenge is undoubtedly the most popular GT3/GT4 based racing simulation out there. Originated on the PC, and later on released for the Playstation and Xbox consoles, it has become one of the most successful racing titles out there.
And it might just become even more popular.
Today, Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games announced that Assetto Corsa Competizione will become available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next-Gen consoles as both a digital and physical release.
And there is good news for existing PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version owners. They will have the opportunity to upgrade to the next-gen version, free of cost. Also, any DLC, as well as your save-data will be carried across.
Needless to say, the next-gen console version of ACC comes with a nice list of improvements. The next-gen version promises 60Fps @ 4K performance and will feature free private lobbies and up to 24 player support.
Alongside the standard version of the game, Kunos Simulazioni and 505 games will also release a “Day One Edition” which will include the 2020 World Challenge DLC pack including a new track in the form of the Italian Imola circuit, two new cars being the 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO and 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, 60+ new car liveries, all the 2020 GT World Challenge drivers and team entries, the 2020 Pirelli “DHE” Tyre Model, and the 2020 Season GT World Challenge BoP.
For those who are wondering, the 2021 liveries will be available in both versions. VR support has not yet been confirmed.
Furthermore, Kunos has hinted that 2022 will also introduce a new DLC pack featuring a number of non-GT3/GT4 cars. Most likely these will be the entrees of the GT2 European Series championship which acts as the support class for the GT World Challenge Europe.
Assetto Corsa Competizione for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next-Gen consoles will become available on February 24, 2022.
