Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 16 EVO2

The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II is a legendary sports sedan and one of the most iconic “homologation specials” ever produced. It was created to allow Mercedes-Benz to compete in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM).

In 1990, Mercedes produced 502 cars to comply with the DTM racing regulations, in which it was demanded that a competing brand had enough road-legal versions of the car in production.

It all worked out as planned, as the AMG-Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo II dominated the 1992 DTM season.

The AMG-Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo II was powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine co-developed with Cosworth. It featured the “AMG PowerPack,” which included a unique throttle body, air intake, camshafts, and an improved ECU. The engine delivered 232 hp at 7,200 rpm and 181 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. All that power was transferred to the rear wheel via a close-ratio “dog-leg” 5-speed manual transmission.

Assetto Corsa EVO is available in Early Access on Steam for €39.99.
