Assetto Corsa – Lotus T125 and Nurburgring GP circuit coming Friday?

Lotus T125

This week its Kunos Simulazioni Friday once more.  The Assetto Corsa development team has been working hard without a doubt.  As usual, the Kunos team started to tease the community with little hints of what to expect in the coming update.  The Assetto Corsa Facebook page revealed a screenshot of the popular German Nurburgring GP circuit.  During the 80s the famous Nordschleife was classified unsafe for Formula 1 races. To get Formula 1 back to the Eifel region, a brand new 4.5 kilometre Grand Prix circuit was built and opened for action in 1984. During 2001 the now well known  “Mercedes Arena”  was added to the track making it the 5.148 km long circuit we know today.

Further more we also spotted a video showing us the real world Lotus T125. This open wheeler is often called ” The customer F1″.  This F1 inspired racing monster is the ultimate track day car. It is powered by a Cosworth 3.8 litre V8 that is putting out 640bhp. The power is transferred to the rear wheels using a 6-speed semi automatic gearbox that is operated by paddle shifters. The chassis is constructed out of Nomex and aluminium, and the body panels are all carbon composites. This turns the car into a super lightweight racing monster weighting little over 590kg giving it a power to weight ratio of more than 1000 hp per tonne.

Because both teasers did appear roughly the same time, it probably means we will see the Lotus T125 and the Nurburgring GP circuit pop up in Friday’s update. Fingers crossed.  Assetto Corsa  Early Access Beta can be purchased for 34,95€ on Steam – http://store.steampowered.com/app/244210
