Assetto Corsa McLaren P1 in the making

Kunos Simulazioni’s Licencensing manager Marco Massarutto could not resist to show us a preview of the McLaren P1 model that at some point will appear in the Assetto Corsa simulator. Marco stated that any speculation related to the Assetto Corsa McLaren P1 release date is a waste of time. Its an early work in progress, and it will take a considerable amount of time before we can crawl behind the virtual wheel of this British beauty. As we have seen on the Assetto Corsa Pagani model chances are high that Kunos Simulazioni will simulate the McLaren P1’s adjustable rear wing and active aerodynamics.

The Assetto Corsa Early Access Beta can be purchased for 34,95€ on Steam – http://store.steampowered.com/app/244210

The exotic road-going McLaren P1 is the successor to the 1994 McLaren F1. The Mclaren P1 has proved a major success as far as the sales of a 1.15 million dollar car can go. All of the 375 built hypercars are already sold. The Mclaren P1 is a Hybrid car powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 that produces 727bhp at 7300rpm and 531lb ft at 4000rpm. On the electrical side the car can also borrow some horses from its electric motor that uses an army of lithium ion batteries to produce a further 176bhp and 192lb ft of torque.

When both power sources are harnassed, the car delivers a combined output of 903bhp and 664lb ft of torque. With its 1450kg that translates in a power-to-weight ratio of 600bhp per tonne. All the vehicle aerodynamics knowledge Mclaren has gathered true the years have been put into the body design of this astonishing McLaren, making it possible to generate the amount of downforce we usually expect from a GT3 racer. With its electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), and its 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds its makes the McLaren P1 a truly exceptional car.
