Assetto Corsa – Mixed Reality VR Video by Marcel Pfister

Marcel Pfister is a big fan of VR technology and has therefore crafted an exciting video promoting the future of the sim racing scene.

He creatively used his Oculus Rift VR headset and a greenscreen to blend in the virtual with the real world, resulting in a rather spectacular video.  In order to showcase how immersive a VR sim racing setup can be, Marcel does some laps on the Assetto Corsa Mugello Circuit driving the BMW Z4 GT3.

While currently, VR headsets are still lacking in the resolution department and are priced a little high to be interesting for the masses, it is clear that the in the very near future the technical development and pricing of VR hardware will get us all excited. Whether it will revolutionise sim racing as we know it, has to be seen, but we are pretty sure VR is here to stay.
