Assetto Corsa Rally V0.3 Early Access Update Released

Kunos Simulazioni, Supernova Games, and 505 Games have released Update 0.3 for the Assetto Corsa Rally Early Access title.

One of the new content highlights of this update is the inclusion of a full course laser-scanned Monte-Carlo Rally stage, bringing us a level of fidelity never seen before in a Rally simulation. All the narrow mountain roads, blind crests, exact road geometry, surface characteristics, and weather changes are meticulously recreated, making it the ultimate virtual rally experience.

The Monte-Carlo rally now features two distinct and fully laser-scanned stages, in the form of the 18 km long “La Bollène-Vésubie Col de Turini”, and the 13 Km long world-famous Sisteron stage.

The Col de Turini features constant elevation changes, narrow passages, an unbroken sequence of tight hairpins and off-camber corners that demand mechanical sympathy, precise throttle control, and total concentration from start to finish. The Sisteron stage features wide, smooth roads and long open corners, where you can maintain high average speeds throughout, although you will have to be careful entering the critical braking zones with limited visibility and the demand for precise pace-note timing.

Furthermore, the Monte-Carlo Rally stages now feature a dynamic snow system, which is another first in any Rally game. Stages can start in sunny weather conditions and change during a stint, forcing you to take strategic service decisions very seriously.
Assetto Corsa Rally simulates snowfall as a genuinely dynamic atmospheric event. Snow can fall anywhere on the stage when realistic meteorological conditions are met: precipitation combined with temperatures dropping below 0°C. Temperature itself varies with altitude, location, and time of day, while cold tarmac progressively reduces grip even before snow arrives. A stage that opens under clear skies can evolve into something entirely different by the final kilometres. Dynamic weather is currently exclusive to both Monte-Carlo stages.

The Dynamic weather feature also demanded new winter and snow tyre compounds alongside the ability to mix and match compounds across axles, mirroring the real-world decisions that define Monte-Carlo preparation. Furthermore, the 0.3 update is adding 40 new AC Rally Events to the roster.

Alongside the new rally stages and related features, Update 0.3 also brings us two New Cars in the form of the classic Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.6 HF Gr.4 and the modern ŠKODA Fabia RS Rally2.

Assetto Corsa Rally Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.6 HF Gr.4

1970 Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.6 HF Gr.4

The Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.6 HF Group 4 transformed the Lancia brand from a boutique luxury manufacturer into a dominant force in world rallying.

The car, often nicknamed “Fanalone” (Big Eyes), was powered by a unique 1,584cc narrow-angle V4 engine that, in Group 4 trim, could produce between 155 and 165 hp. All this power was transferred to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual “dog-leg” gearbox.

Assetto Corsa Rally V0.3 Skoda Fabia RS Rally 2

2022 Skoda Fabia RS Rally 2

The Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 is the successor to the highly successful Fabia Rally2 evo and is widely considered the “gold standard” of the Rally2 category. Built on the fourth-generation Fabia production chassis, it was designed to be faster, more stable, and more user-friendly for both factory and privateer teams.

The permanent four-wheel drive (4×4) car is powered by a 1.6L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine derived from the 2.0 TSI EA888. The engine delivers 289 hp (214 kW) and 430 Nm Torque. All that power is transferred to all the wheels via a 5-speed sequential gearbox and 4WD with mechanical differentials.

Depending on the track surface, the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 can do 0–100 km/h in approximately 4.2 seconds.

Needless to say, this update also brings us the usual general improvements to the game structure, audio, physics, and more. Check out the detailed changelog below.

Assetto Corsa Rally is available on Steam Early Access for €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99.
