F1 2020 – Max Verstappen Laps The Red Bull Ring

F1 2020 - Max Verstappen Laps The Red Bull Ring

This weekend the Formula One circus camped out in Austria for the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen took pole qualifying at the Red Bull Ring, and went on to win today’s race, totally dominating the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix.

As we all know, in his spare time, Max is also an avid sim racer. Therefore, it might be a good time to share a video of Max Verstappen lapping the Red Bull Ring in F1 2020 by Codemasters.

Born as the Österreichring and host of the Austrian Formula One Austrian Grand Prix for 18 years the track was rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring and was used in that configuration from 1997 to 2003.
After being left to its own devices, the track was purchased by Red Bull’s Dietrich Mateschitz who had the track completely rebuilt. The Red Bull Ring was born.

The current 4.318 km (2.683 mi) track reopened in 2011 where it hosted a round of the DTM season and a round of the 2011 F2 championship. Formula One returned to the circuit in the 2014 season. The Red Bull Ring also hosted a second F1 event named the Styrian Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021 after the COVID-19 Pandemic affected the schedules of both of those F1 seasons.
