Its almost time for the 2020 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix , so Codemasters published a new F1 2020 track guide showing us the ins and outs of the Yas Marina Circuit.

We jump in the Alfa Romeo Racing C39 of Antonio Giovinazzi for a detailed look at the Abu Dhabi GP circuit.

Yas Marina Circuit

The Yas Marina Circuit is situated on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. In 2006, plans were announced to develop Yas Island, into a new tourist destination, with a major part of the plans centring around a Formula 1 race track. The builders started working on the track in May 2007.

In October 2009, the circuit was granted final approval to hold Formula One races, and so the FIA Grade 1 circuit became the venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The GP track has a length of 5.5 km, with the longest straight being 1.14 km, and an elevation change of 10.7 m. The lap record was set in 2019 by Lewis Hamilton who did a lap in 1:39.283.
