Gran Turismo Sport – A Full Lap At The Nürburgring Nordschleife

In about six weeks time, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Polyphony Digital will release the highly anticipated Gran Turismo Sport racing title for the PlayStation 4.

At launch, GT Sport will have a track roster spanning 19 locations featuring a total of 27 layouts to drive on. One of the main attractions in the track list will be the new scratch build version of the world famous Nürburgring Nordschleife 24H layout. While it is disappointing that GT Sport will not feature dynamic time-lapsing in order to raise the frame-rate and the quality of the game, it is comforting to know that the Nordschleife 24 track will be available in both a day and night version.

After the spectacular Gamescom trailer showcasing Gran Turismo Sport’s night racing at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, the German Auto Bild Motorsport magazine now published an interesting GT Sport video showing us a daytime Nürburgring Nordschleife 24H layout lap against the AI.

The car used for the lap is the Gran Turismo Sport version of the 2016 Walkenhorst BMW M6 GT3. Incidentally, this is the exact car in which Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi competed in the real world 2016 Nürburgring 24H endurance race where he finished 22nd overall.

Gran Turismo Sport will become available in North America on October 17. The Europe and Australia release are scheduled for October 18, while in Asia the release is set for October 19.
