iRacing 2026 Season 2 Dev Update Video

iRacing

iRacing deployed the 2026 Season 2 Update for its online racing platform. As usual, Greg Hill, Senior VP and Executive Producer at iRacing, shared a new Dev Update video, in which he takes us on a tour, checking out all the new features and content of the latest build.

Season highlights include:

New Cars:

  • Audi RS3 LMS Gen2 TCR – The successor to the original Audi TCR joins the service with full rain and AI support. The original Audi RS3 LMS has now moved to [Legacy] status.
  • NASCAR Truck RAM – Marking RAM’s return to NASCAR in the sim, this truck joins the Craftsman Truck Series fleet as a fourth manufacturer.
  • Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (NASCAR Cup Update) – The Next Gen Camaro has been updated to its 2026 spec, featuring the ZL1 performance package with updated body panels and aero.

New & Updated Tracks:

  • St. Petersburg Grand Prix – The iconic Florida street circuit is now fully available. It features the 1.8-mile, 14-turn layout used by IndyCar and (for the first time in 2026) the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
  • Barber Motorsports Park (Rescan) – Completely rebuilt from the ground up using new laser scan data to reflect the track’s recent repaving and updated scenery.
  • Short Oval Art Refreshes – Lanier, Langley, and USA International Speedway have received significant visual overhauls to match current graphical standards.
  • 3D Curbs – The Red Bull Ring has been updated with 3D curbs for improved physical accuracy and force feedback.

Sim UI & Quality of Life:

  • HUD Layout Profiles – You can now create, save, and share custom HUD layouts. Profiles can be assigned globally or to specific cars (e.g., a “GT3 Profile” or a “Rain Profile”).
  • Visual Spotter – A new accessibility feature for single-monitor users that provides a graphical representation of cars alongside you, using the same logic as the audio spotter.
  • Throttle/Brake Timeline – The Driver Inputs widget can now toggle a graph view to show your recent pedal history, helping with lap analysis.
  • Simplified Garage – Ride heights are now directly adjustable (no more fighting with spring perches), and the Chassis page has been condensed to fit on a single screen.

Physics & Rain Racing:

  • Newly Rain-EnabledLotus 49, IMSA Vintage (Nissan GTP ZX-T and Audi 90 GTO), and the GTE car class.
  • Oval Refresh – Continued improvements to rubber buildup and “lane dynamics,” making multi-groove racing more realistic as tracks’ rubber in.
  • TCR Overhaul – The entire TCR class received a physics refresh, including a new braking system with a rear proportioning valve to match real-world specs.

AI Improvements:

  • Event Completion – AI drivers can now finish races and qualifying sessions even if the player exits early, allowing for simulated league results.
  • New AI Support – The Audi RS3 LMS Gen2, NASCAR RAM, and St. Pete are all AI-ready at launch.
