Back in December 2013 iRacing.com, announced that it had reached an agreement with Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola) to build a laser-scanned version of the Italian circuit. It was also announced that there where plans in the making to build the most famous track of Italy… the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

Today Executive Vice President and Executive Producer Steve Myers posted a tweet announcing that the Imola track is being laser scanned as we speak. Also called Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari the track hosted the Formula One San Marino Grand Prix. Sadly enough the track is most remembered for the fatal accidents of  Formula One drivers Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

As we get closer to the new iRacing build it becomes clear that this time it will be a big one. The new iRacing BMW Z4 GT3 will become part of the online racing service while on the track side of things two new circuits will be added. Oval fans will be delighted to see the Lucas Oil Raceway arrive while for the road course fans the Circuit of Americas GP track (COTA) will be added to the service. Iracing members who are eager to know what to race where, can have a look at the 2014 Season 2 schedule that is already up in the iRacing forum. The schedule reveals that the BMW Z4 GT3 car will be joining the GT3 class in the GT3 Series while the Global Challenge Series and  Class C Street Stock have changed to a fixed setup series . the to be released Circuit of the Americas and Lucas Oil Raceway are already added to a number of schedules.
