iRacing  – VW Beetle GRC Announced

iRacing announced that the Volkswagen Beetle GRC car will be coming to the Online Racing Service in the fall of 2017.

After the already confirmed Ford Fiesta WRX, the Volkswagen Beetle GRC will be the second car model announced as part of the upcoming Rallycross content for iRacing. In order to develop the virtual model as authentic as possible, the iRacing development team called upon the help of ex-Formule One, NASCAR driver, and 2015/2016 GRC Champion Scott Speed.

The Volkswagen Beetle GRC is powered by a four-cylinder 2-liter turbocharged engine that delivers a massive 560 hp. The power is transferred to all four wheels over a six-speed sequential racing gear box which is transversely mounted. The car can hit 0–100 kph in approx. 2.2 seconds and can reach speeds up to approx. 200 kph.
