The Artefacts Studio is working on MXGP 26, the Official FIM Motocross World Championship Game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, published by NACON.
This new instalment of the MXGP franchise is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will introduce state of the art visual with enhanced lighting, textures, and environmental details. The motorcycle physics are fully rewritten, and rider animations and rider dynamics are completely reworked, enabling you to benefit from scrubbing, whipping, and landing off high-speed jumps. All this will also be visualised in third-person view or via a reworked first-person helmet camera for greater immersion.
Available game modes:
- Championship: Full season progression to earn the red plate.
- The Compound: A free-roam practice ground to hone skills, scrubs, and whips.
- Quick Race & Time Attack: For fast action and hot-lap chasing.
- Online Multiplayer: Supports up to 10 players in competitive lobby matches.
Furthermore, Milestone worked on its real-time dynamic terrain deformation technology that alters the track as riders pass through. For the first time, the terrain reacts to every wheel pass in real time. As bikes lap the circuit, tire treads actively dig ruts into dirt, mud, and sand. The circuit is constantly evolving, changing how the bike handles lap after lap, forcing players to constantly adjust their racing line as terrain deepens and deteriorates.
MX26 will include all 19 official MXGP and MX2 Grand Prix circuits across 17 countries, alongside “The Compound,” which is a free-roam training ground. Expect iconic MX tracks such as Bariloche in Argentina (volcanic soil), Riola Sardo in Sardinia (sand), Pietramurata in Italy (compact dirt), and Loket in the Czech Republic (hard-pack dirt).
