MXGP Demo Release – Gamer Muscle rides

As we posted yesterday, Milestone released the MXGP demo on the Steam distribution platform. Gamer Muscle installed the Official Motocross Video game and shares his first impressions of his laps impersonating Gautier Paulin on the Kawasaki at the Matterley Basin MX track. The demo enables you to select Quick Race as game mode and offers you three bikes to choose from. To get a rough idea of the bike physics involved, Gamer Muscle is playing the game in Pro mode with all assists disabled.

While the Muscle man in biting the dust a fair few times, he is explaining his findings of the look and feel of this title. His overall feel is that Motocross fans and people who enjoy the somewhat more arcade titles will surely like the game. For those who are looking at a straight forward bike simulation, it might turn out in a potential disappointment. In MX GP you will have to use your right D-Pad to lean, while using your left to steer. This can be very tricky for non console gamers out there, and might take a bit of practise to master it. To make things even more complicated, you also have to make use of an independent front and back brake. So be ready to invest some time in practise.

In Gamers Muscle’s words, “you can compare it to what Codemasters F1 is for the sim community”. What this means is that the title is very enjoyable, and seems the have all the expected ingredients built-in to appeal to fans of the sport. When it comes to physics and the accuracy of them, it might not live up to your expectations.

All in all Gamer muscle calls the game quite promising while not being the most advanced motocross simulator out there.  However, Motocross or regular racing game enthusiasts don’t have an excuse not to try the MXGP demo release.
