Back in May, the American Publisher and eSports ecosystem provider Motorsport Games Inc. acquired Studio 397 and with it the rFactor 2 racing simulator. Alongside the takeover, the company announced an upcoming reboot of the NASCAR video game franchise, due for release later in 2021.
Now Motorsport Games revealed the first teaser screenshots of the yet-to-be-named new NASCAR game and made clear that this title is not a follow-up of the NASCAR Heat series, but a new scratch-build project.
While not a lot of details were shared, Motorsport Games did confirm that this new NASCAR game will make use of the Unreal Engine combined with the rFactor 2 physics and AI. We also know that the game will feature a legitimate paint booth where creative gamers can design and race their own livery creations.
At the time of writing, Motorsport Games did not yet confirm an official release date, but the game is expected to become available by the end of this year.
