Porsche coming to Gran Turismo Sport

Exciting news for Gran Turismo fans.

Due to the former exclusive licensing deal between EA Games and Porsche AG, the previous iterations of the Polyphony Digital title had to make use of a RUF Automotive model as a substitute for the famous German brand. Those days are now over.

This morning, various PlayStation websites and social media channels posted that the Porsche brand is finally coming to the Gran Turismo franchise. Not long after, the official European Sony Entertainment Press portal posted six stunning in-game screenshots showing us the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

At the time of writing, the 911 GT3 RS is the only Porsche model confirmed, but it is more than likely that other models will be included in the license deal. we will keep you posted when more info becomes available.

Gran Turismo Sport will be a new iteration of the world-renown racing simulation franchise. The game is currently in development as a VR-compatible racing game and will be the first console racing title to feature online competitions sanctioned by the FIA (Federation International Automobile). The game will feature +-140 premium cars and 19 locations featuring 27 layouts. Gran Turismo Sport was first scheduled to be released late 2016 but was later on delayed to ensure the game’s quality.
