Project CARS 2 – Dallara DW12 IndyCar At Indianapolis

Earlier today we posted screenshots of the historic Indycar models which will be coming to Project CARS 2. Now Slightly Mad Studios introduces the modern day Dallara DW12 currently used in the American Indycar Series. Both the Chevrolet and Honda Aero’ kits for both speedway and road tracks will be featured in the game.

The Project CARS 2 development team received some help from the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Indycar team whilst developing their virtual version of the DW12. Having the entire telemetry of the real world Indycar at their disposal should result in an accurately simulated model.

You can check out some impressive in-game screenshots of the Dallara DW12 in action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway which is also featured in the game. Furthermore, Slightly Mad Studios published an interesting Q&A with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ assistant race engineer Kenny KrajnikHead over to the official Project CARS website and check out the full article.

The Dallara DW12 is developed and produced by Italian manufacturer Dallara. The car debuted at the 2012 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The older Dallara IR-05 chassis was in urgent need of replacement. The original IR12 chassis was renamed to WR12 after British Indycar 2005 Champion, Dan Wheldon, who was sadly killed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16, 2011. Dan was also the original test driver of the newly build Dallara DW12 chassis.

Project CARS 2 the ‘ultimate driver journey’ will become available late 2017 for the PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam OS. On the consoles, PCars 2 will go head to head with upcoming heavyweights such as Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport.

In addition to the standard version, Slightly Mad Studios also gives you the option of pre-ordering three different premium versions through retail stores, being the Limited Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Ultra Edition. All the Premium editions include exclusive content and come in a premium-packaged Steelbook case. While it is not yet officially confirmed, it has been rumored that these limited editions will only be available in Europe.
