Straight4 Studios has shared new in-game screenshots of the Japanese GT500 Pack DLC scheduled to become available for Project Motor Racing by the end of March. Check out the game models of the 2003 and current-gen Toyota GR Supra GT500 SUPER GT cars.

The developer stated that Project Motor Racing will feature the most up-to-date GT500 machinery from the SUPER GT Japan championship. It will include five of the current gen’ cars plus four historic SUPER GT racers from the 2003 GT500 grid. All the cars in the DLC will ship with the new handling physics and tyre model.

Alongside the selection of exciting cars, Straight4 will also add a yet-to-be-revealed Japanese racing track.

The 2003 Toyota Supra wasn’t technically a “Gazoo Racing (GR )” Supra, but a JZA80 Mk4 Supra from the JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Championship, which we now know as Super GT. It was powered by a 4.5L Naturally Aspirated V8 engine that could produce 480–500 hp, 510 Nm torque conforming to the GT500 regulations. The power was transferred to the rear wheels via a Hewland 6-speed sequential transmission, operated with a sequential gear shifter.

The current spec Toyota GR Supra GT500 is a whole different beast compared to the 2003 JZA80 Supra. While they both share the “Supra” name, the 21-year gap has transformed the car from a modified grand tourer into a purpose-built “Class 1” silhouette racer. The modern version of the car is powered by a 2.0L Turbocharged I4 (RI4AG) “Formula Nippon Race Engine” that can produce 650+ hp and ~700+ Nm of torque. The Hewland 6-speed sequential transaxle gearbox is being operated via steering-wheel-mounted paddles connected to an electronic-pneumatic actuator system.
