The 2026 DTM Esports Championship marks a significant expansion for the series, as it now operates across two distinct virtual platforms to engage both the competitive pro scene and the broader sim racing community.
For the 2026 season, the DTM has transitioned into a multi-simulation ecosystem:
- RaceRoom: The traditional DTM Esports Championship continues here, serving as the professional flagship where the world’s elite sim racers and factory-backed teams compete for the title.
- iRacing: A new iRacing DTM Series has been introduced for 2026. This is designed for “realistic hardcore” racing, featuring an open global ranking system that allows any registered user to compete in races that mirror the real-world DTM schedule.
The championship follows the real-world DTM calendar closely, with virtual races typically held on Thursday evening (20:00 local time) prior to the actual race weekend. The events are broadcast live on the official DTM YouTube and Facebook channels, often featuring professional commentary and guest appearances from real-world DTM stars.
