Worlds Fastest Gamer James Baldwin – Getting Started In Sim Racing

Via the Logitech G-Channel, last year’s World’s Fastest Gamer (and now GT3 racing driver), James Baldwin shares some tips for those who want to get started in sim racing.

James also promotes the Logitech McLaren G Challenge 2020 in which gamers can compete in online qualifiers and wild card events, and ultimately win an all-expenses-paid VIP McLaren F1 experience.

Sim Racer James Baldwin claimed the US$1M prize in the form of a season seat in the McLaren 720S GT3 of the Jenson Team Rocket RJN racing team founded by Bob Neville and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button.

If or when the GT championship resumes this year, James will be racing alongside team co-owner Chris Buncombe in the 2020 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup which will be the tenth season of the GT Series Endurance Cup and the first after title sponsor Blancpain withdrew support.

Back in may, Logitech G and McLaren announced the 3rd Annual Logitech McLaren G 2020 Challenge.

The Logitech McLaren G Challenge eSport event is divided into four divisions, North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Each region will host online qualifiers and/or wildcard events throughout the summer of 2020. The winners of these events will go on to compete in their division’s Regional Finals. The top three racers from each division will then compete in the worldwide Grand Finals.

The Logitech McLaren G Challenge online qualifiers, wildcards, and regional finals will all be played on Project Cars 2. Regional Finalists will win a spot in the Grand Final and paid travel for themselves and a guest to the competition.

The overall winner of the 2020 Logitech McLaren G Challenge will receive a four-day all-expenses-paid trip to London and a visitor experience at the McLaren Technology Centre. But it does not stop there. The winner will be able to drive in a McLaren supercar, coached by Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, and will be a VIP guest at the 2021 F1 British Grand Prix.
