A Look At The New LEOXZ XGT Pro Steering Wheel
LEOXZ XGT Pro

Founded in 2020, by racing engineer Leo Evans, the LEOXZ company aims to make high-quality products affordable for racing enthusiasts around the world. Leoxz products include a variety of high-end racing simulator equipment, such as steering wheels, paddles, and adapters.

Leoxz has now introduced its new XGT Pro Steering Wheel. The 295mm diameter Formula/GT rim is built around a CNC machined anodized aluminum chassis, fitted with a 4mm 3K carbon fiber front plate.

The wheel features a 0.96-inch IPS screen and a rev display with 9 RGB LEDs. Both the screen and the Rev LEDs can be configured via the well-known SimHub software. Furthermore, the XGT Pro is equipped with 14 backlit RGB push buttons, 2 Multi-directional joysticks with integrated encoders, 4 push-button encoders, and 2 thumb encoders.

The rear houses the two magnetic non-contact Hall sensor shifter paddles with adjustable bite point mode and axis mode. Two additional clutch paddles are optionally available. The wheel can be attached to a quick release via 70mm diameter QR mounting holes. Leoxz optionally supplies a powered QR for Fanatec, Simagic, or Moza Racing wheelbases. The Fanatec mode is compatible with a PS4/5 on Fanatec bases and supports access to the Fanatec Tuning Menu for adjusting wheelbase settings.

The wheel connects through a GX12 threaded USB interface and a USB double-twisted cable, or via an optional Low latency 2.4G *wireless interface. (*Keep in mind that you will have to purchase an XGT 2.4G Link separately as a USB receiver.)

Pricing:

At the time of writing, the standard LEOXZ XGT Pro Steering Wheel is available for preorder at €399.95 + shipping and local taxes. For optional pricing including various quick-release units and or the optional clutch pedals, or XGT 2.4G wireless link, check the official website. The ordered wheels are scheduled to ship ( from the factory in China) somewhere between Dec 31, 2023 – Jan 02, 2024.

Notes:

  • 1. The steering wheel can only be used in sim racing
  • 2. For USB power input, the maximum voltage is 5V. For QR power input, the maximum voltage is 12V. Exceeding these maximum voltage limits may result in damage to the steering wheel.
  • 3. The free version of Simhub only outputs data at a 10-frame rate, you need to purchase an additional license to have a 60-frame rate.
  • 4. The SimHub dashboard is only effective when connected via USB. When using a 2.4G wireless connection, only the built-in dashboard for gear and speed is available.
  • 5. When using the wireless functionality of the steering wheel, it is advisable to place the wireless receiver within approximately 1 meter or closer to the steering wheel. Otherwise, it may result in a decrease in wireless speed.
  • 6. For bases that may have noticeable EMI issues, such as the Fanatec DD1/2, the optimal choice is to connect the steering wheel using an externally powered USB hub, along with a USB isolator. Additionally, it is recommended to ensure that the DD1/2 has an additional grounding cable (https://fanatec.com/us-en/faq/details/id/72).
