A few days ago, Reiza Studios revealed the first official in-game AMS2 screenshots of the historic Nürburgring track as it was back in 1971. Now that the track is available as a Release Candidate, we can enjoy some fresh previews showcasing the track in its winter, fall, and spring setting.

While no official release date has been confirmed, the historic Nürburgring layout for AMS2 will become available very soon.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife in 1971 was a challenging and iconic racing circuit located in the Eifel Mountains of Germany. It was a 22.835 km (14.189 mi) long track that was known for its long straights, tight corners, and elevation changes. The track was built in the 1920s and was the site of many famous races, including the German Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

In 1971, the track was still largely unchanged from its original layout, with narrow sections and unforgiving barriers that left little room for error. The track was notorious for its difficulty, with many blind corners and elevation changes that made it a true test of driver skill and courage.

The lap record in 1971 was held by Jackie Stewart, who had set a time of 7:25.60 in a Formula One car the previous year. The lap record for production cars was held by German driver Dieter Glemser, who had set a time of 8:17.40 in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG during the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring race.

Living Formula 1 legend, Sir Jackie Stewart was so impressed by the track that he gave it the name that it will probably never get rid of. The Green Hell.

Despite its challenges, the Nordschleife was a beloved track among drivers and fans alike, and its reputation as one of the most difficult and demanding circuits in the world was well-established. Today, the track remains a popular destination for racing enthusiasts, and many of the original features and challenges of the circuit remain largely unchanged.
