Cube Controls SRLS is a manufacturer of state-of-the-art sim racing equipment for both the professional and sim racing enthusiast markets.
The Italian company introduced the all-new lightweight Astra steering wheel for the PC, which is available for pre-order in two versions: the standard and a Premium version.
The standard version is fitted with standard switches, knobs, and Thumb encoders, comes without a Hub, and features Clear Buttons. The Premium version has CNC-machined aluminum 7-way switches, knobs, and CNC-machined aluminum Thumb encoders. It comes with a Hub and features Tinted Buttons.
The Astra wheel rim chassis is made out of aluminium and carbon fiber and features new grips with studied ergonomics and an improved texture. The wheel houses new high-end buttons with revised pressure and a new shape.
The controls include 10 RGB Buttons, 2 Toggle switches, 2 Front Rotary Encoders, 2 Thumb Rotary Encoders, and 2 Multi-Directional joysticks with Integrated encoders. The Cube Controls Logo is RGB backlit. Furthermore, the rear of the wheel features an On/Off pushbutton.
The electronics and RGB functions of the wheel are fully Simhub-compatible.
Under the name “ELOI”, Cube Controls designed a new CNC-machined shifter and Launch control Clutch System with Carbon Fiber Paddles that improve speed, precision, and noise levels. The clutch and shifters can be dialed in via the software.
The Astra wheel is controlled via new electronics featuring an incredibly fast chipset for a more intense experience, and is fully Simhub compatible down to the Cube Controls logo.
The wheel connects to a PC using the famed Cube Controls QConn magnetic connector system.
Availability and pricing:
The Cube Controls Astra Wheel is available for pre-order, starting at 487,00 € + shipping for the Standard version. The Premium version with black or blue buttons and encoders is available (pre-order) for 547,00 € + shipping. (At the time of writing, I could not find an official shipping date.)
